  2. DYNAMIC GRAPHICS USER'S GUIDE

  5. BASIC REQUIREMENTS
  6. ------------------

  8. Dynamic Graphics images require application(s) that are compatible
  9. with TIFF and/or EPS file formats. The TIFF images are saved as TIFF
  10. (version 5.0) files in Adobe Photoshop. EPS images are saved as Adobe
  11. Illustrator 1.1 files. Any other hardware requirements will be based
  12. primarily on the applications you use and the type of final output
  13. you plan to produce. For best results, your printer should be 
  14. PostScript compatible.

  16. All documentation assumes you have a basic understanding of how to 
  17. use your computer and the programs you have purchased for it.

  19. ART SELECTION
  20. -------------
  21. ** Printed Pictorial Index **
  22. This provides thumbnail and file name for each image in the issue.

  24. USING THE CLIP ART
  25. ------------------
  26. ** PAGE LAYOUT PROGRAMS **
  27. Open your page layout program, create a new document and place the 
  28. TIFF and EPS files as you would any other pictures. The following 
  29. page layout programs are compatible with both TIFF & EPS file 
  30. formats:
  31.  *Adobe PageMaker
  32.  *QuarkXpress
  33.  *Corel Publisher
  34.  
  35. ** DRAW PROGRAMS **
  36. Open your draw program, then Open or Import the EPS file. These 
  37. images can be manipulated like any other EPS image. The following 
  38. draw programs are compatible with the EPS file format:
  39.  *Adobe Illustrator
  40.  *MacroMedia FreeHand (TIFF files can be placed into a document)
  41.  *Arts & Letters (Use Decipher to convert EPS to GED)
  42.  *Corel Draw! (TIFF files can be imported into a document)
  43.  *Microgrfx Designer
  44.  
  45. ** PAINT PROGRAMS **
  46. The TIFF files can be manipulated like any other TIFF image 
  47. in the following programs:
  48.  *Adobe Photoshop (EPS images are converted to bitmap images)
  49.  *Gray FX
  50.  *Image-In
  51.  *PhotoStyler (EPS images are converted to bitmap images)
  52.  *Publisher's Paintbrush
  53.  *Touch-Up
  54.  
  55. If your application was not listed above, please refer to your 
  56. manual for compatibility.
